Disposable email checker
Check an email address for syntax problems, missing mail records, disposable domains, role addresses, and free mail providers. The free checker needs no signup, runs on the ContactLint server, and does not store what you enter.
Bulk check (up to 50 addresses)
Also check a phone number
How the check works
- Syntax is checked against practical RFC rules.
- MX and A records are looked up through Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS.
- The domain and its parent domains are matched against a list of 9,880 disposable domains.
- Role addresses like admin@ and info@ and free mail providers are flagged.
The list has 9,880 domains, fetched 2026-10-12 from the open disposable-email-domains project (CC0 1.0). See list stats and download it.

Questions
What do the verdicts mean?
Invalid means the syntax is bad or the domain has no MX or A record. Risky means the address uses a disposable domain or is a role address. Valid means the domain accepts mail. Unknown means a DNS error prevented a result.
Does ContactLint confirm that a specific mailbox exists?
No. ContactLint never opens an SMTP connection, so it cannot confirm that a specific mailbox exists. A valid verdict means the domain accepts mail.
Where does the disposable domain list come from?
The list contains 9,880 domains from the open disposable-email-domains project, licensed CC0 1.0, fetched on 2026-10-12. A domain is flagged if it or any parent domain is on the list.
Why wasn't a throwaway address flagged?
New throwaway domains appear constantly and may not be on the list yet. Forwarding alias services such as SimpleLogin or DuckDuckGo addresses are not on the list because they forward to real inboxes.
Can I check more than one address at a time?
Yes. You can bulk paste up to 50 addresses. Bulk checks skip DNS and only check syntax, disposable domains, role addresses, and free mail providers. A single check includes the DNS lookup.
Is my input stored, and are there usage limits?
Checks run on the ContactLint server, not in your browser, and your input is not stored. The free tool is rate limited per IP. For more volume, use the API, which includes 100 free checks per month per key.
Limits of the free tool
20 checks per minute and 300 per day per network. Bulk paste counts as one check.
Need this in your signup form or CRM? The ContactLint API runs the same checks, with 100 free checks per month. Get a free key.
